While the stake structure provides a certain level of containment, heavy cargo still requires separate securement. Securing methods for steel materials, bulk bags (FIBCs) of minerals, and heavy grains should be selected based on cargo shape, packaging, and center of gravity.
After loading is complete, check whether the cargo exceeds allowable vehicle limits, whether tie-down points are secure, and whether the sideboards and locking mechanisms function properly. For goods prone to rolling, sliding, or having a high center of gravity, additional chocks, straps, or other auxiliary measures should be added.
Once the vehicle is in service, regularly inspect the sideboards, stakes, tie-down rings, tires, suspension, brakes, and axles, and promptly address any looseness or abnormal wear.
